Great Monk Neung-in, one of the famous monks of the Shilla Dynasty, established Bongjeongsa Temple. The temple has the oldest wooden building among Korean temples. The temple was listed as a Korean Mountain Area Temple by UNESCO in 2018. Bongjeongsa Temple has many facilities with high value relating to ancient construction mechanisms. As such, the temple may be called and regarded important as a museum of wooden structures. It's a beautiful temple that King Taejo and King Gongmin had been there, too.
