The house is where Hakbong Kim Seongil lived. He was a scholar of the King Seonjo, Joseon Dynasty. Kim Seongil studied with Seo-ae Ryu Seongryong as a pupil of Toegye Lee Hwang. There is Unjang-gak which preserves Hakbong Kim Seongil's relics, other than the Hakbong Head House. Unjanggak keeps 500 items of his relics, including books and others left by his descendants. Significantly, there are ancient books of 56 kinds, 261 items (Treasure No. 905), Jechogo, and record documents of King Seonjo era (Treasure No. 906), designated as Treasure.
